Spikes GPP Plays (12/19/21)

We have another wild Sunday in store for everyone! While multiple games have already been postponed, it leaves us with a 6 game slate for tonight. There are still plenty of options available, and this also makes the slate a little less chalky to me. Lets dive into some tournament plays!

Point Guard

Lamelo Ball is just coming back from health protocols and saw 29 minutes in his first game back. The matchup against Phoenix isn’t super great on paper. That being said, they aren’t the best team in guarding three point shooting. Due to the matchup, I believe he is going to come in relatively low owned and makes for an even greater play.  He should also get plenty of peripherals to add to his scoring ability.  Other interesting plays here are Lonzo Ball, Tyrese Haliburton, and Gabe Vincent.

Shooting Guard

Desmond Bane has been pretty consistent as of late. I see no reason for that to stop tonight. Bane gets a great matchup against Portland, who is terrible against defending guards. A lot of people are probably going to grab Buddy Hield for $200 cheaper, so this is a great pivot leverage play tonight. Bane has been averaging a little under 30 FP per game and has a ceiling of about 40-45. I also have a lot of interest in Alex Caruso, Derrick White, and Wayne Ellington.

Small Forward

Harrison Barnes isn’t going to be a low owned play by any means. He is still a fantastic option tonight, though.  The matchup isn’t ideal, however, he should see upwards of 35-40 minutes tonight.  With all his teammates out tonight, he should get a huge bump in usage.  His shot wasn’t falling last game, but if it does, the upside is massive with the amount of shots he is putting up. I’m also looking at Saddiq Bey, Lebron James, and Javonte Green.

Power Forward

PJ Tucker has been heating up recently and seeing a uptick in minutes and usage, mostly due to injuries. That being said, he makes for a great play tonight. Logging over 30 minutes in his last five games, he should see plenty of time tonight. As we saw a couple games ago, if his shot is falling, the upside is massive. He gets a great matchup against Detroit and can smash value at only $4800.  Other guys I’m looking at here are Chimezie Metu, Demar Derozan, and Carmelo Anthony.

Center

Karl-Anthony Towns makes for an elite option tonight in a great matchup against Dallas, who has nobody who is going to be able to stop him. His price tag is too low to ignore for his recent production (56  and 51.5 FP). I plan on having plenty of exposure to him.  A double-double is more likely than not here. My only concern is  potential blowout. That being said, he should be a big reason the game would get to that status. Nikola Vucevic, Deandre Ayton, and Jakob Poeltl are all viable here as well.

Lets have a great slate!! Hope to see a lot of green in the discord chat!!
