Karma Nation! The Masters is very near, but first we are here at the Valero Texas Open. We are coming off our 2nd losing week of the PGA season last week. We had a little bad luck as Poulter lost in a playoff to win his group and Xander blew his final match lead dropping us to a positive +22.55 units on the year with our record standing at 28-14-3. We look to bounce back this week as we did after our first loss of the season! We are looking for our 11th winning week in the past 13!

Course Preview:

This week we are at the Valero Texas Open, which is being played at the Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio. This course plays as one of the toughest on tour, with the cut line usually being over par. The event has an averaged a score of 73.11 over its past 9 years. This 7,435 yard par-72 track has some of the longest par 5’s on tour, with 2 being over 600 yards and another at 591! It has 2 shorter drive-able Par 4’s that you must score on as their is minimal easy holes on this track. The wind is usually brutal and causing scores to rise. The course boasts some deep bunkers, difficult to hold greens that feature many run off areas. Driving accuracy will be needed here as you must avoid the tall native grass. Bombers will have an advantage here with four of the Par 4’s being 450+, 3 of the Par 3’s stretching 200+ and the ever so long Par 5’s.

The Bets:

The first match-up I’m looking at this week is Luke List vs Jhonattan Vegas. List is a bomber that has been playing really well as of late, after a rough start to the season. He has 2 Top 15s in his last 4 starts and has made 3 of the 4 cuts. In the last 24 rounds List is 2nd in SG: OTT, 3rd in SG: BS, and 5th in SG: T2G. His putter has been the only thing to hold him back a little. Vegas has missed the cut here 3 of the past 5 years and hasn’t recorded a finish above 34th here.

The Play: Luke List -110 1u

The next match-up will be Lucas Glover vs Sungjae Im. Lucas Glover has made 5/7 cuts this year with every finish being 13th or higher. His worst stat over his past 24 rounds is putting at coming in at 37th. He is #4 is SG total and is top 10 in SG: T2G, BS, and APP. Sungjae Im got off to a really hot start last week at Corales, but faded pretty bad over the weekend and looked tired. He has played the last 11 week straight and looks to be tired. Im has missed the cut in 3 of his last 7 events. He has finished in the top 10 in his past 2 events, but blew his lead last weekend finishing in 7th after he slowed down over the weekend. Glover took last weekend off to rest and that should benefit him here this weekend.

The Play: Lucas Glover +100 1u

Jason Kokrak T20 +150 1u

Billy Horschel T20 +125 1u

Nick Taylor T20 +333 1u

Longshots:

Jason Kokrak 28-1 to win

Luke List 50-1 to win
