NHL Value Vault -10/3/19

Hello Karma Nation~

The NHL Gods have blessed us with eight match-ups on the slate tonight. In fact, we get an immediate look at what will arguably be the two highest scoring lines this season- Colorado’s Landeskog, MacKinnen, Rantanen & Boston’s Marchand, Bergeron, Pastrnak.

Let’s take a look at how you can add some value to your lineup to afford your favorite high-priced studs.

Offense:

  • Brandon Tanev PIT ($4000-FD, $3700-DK) You will get exposure to Evgeni Malkin with Tanev who had career highs last season by launching 127 shots in 80 games and should see the 40-point tier if he stays in the Pens top six. Buffalo’s 28th ranked defense makes this even more enticing.
  • Troy Terry ANH ($3600-FD, $3300-DK) Is completely healed from his leg injury suffered last season when he tallied 13 points in 32 games as a 21-year old. Terry is playing on the Duck’s top offensive line alongside Ryan Getzlaf and you’ll also benefit from him being on Anaheim’s top power play line.
  • Phillip Danault MON ($4500-FD, $4300-DK) Wait … a first line center under 5K? Mispricing alert here. He’s not only coming off a career best 53 point season but will be a fixture on the Hab’s remodeled 1st power play unit. Carolina’s middle of the pack defense only excites me more for Danault’s discounted price.

Defense:

  • Josh Morrissey WPG ($4400-FD, $4500-DK) Has taken over as the top power play anchor with Dustin Byfuglien out. He had over 30 points in just 59 games last season and could easily top 50 this year in his expanded role. Winnipeg faces an aging Henrik Lundqvist who did not register a win in two starts against the Jets last year.
  • Cale Makar COL ($4600-FD, $4700-DK) Not a household name yet but give it time. I just really like that Kakar will direct Colorado’s top power play-my predicted top scoring line in the NHL this year. His goal and four assists in seven post season games last year doesn’t hurt his resume either.

Goaltender:

  • Connor Hellebuyck WPG ($7300-FD, $7500-DK) Not much net-minder value tonight but I’m rolling with Hellebuyck. He’s facing the Rangers who he was 2-0 against last year. With 45 road wins and a 2.65 career GAA and all the Jet’s scoring punch behind him? Yes please!

Here’s hoping you cash and enjoy all the NHL action tonight!
