NBA DFS 1/4/20- Sriracha’s Building Blocks

The Core

De’Aaron Fox-

Fox is my favorite play on the slate, love the upside here, the price, no Boggy. Not only that, Fox (*sigh*) owns Lonzo Ball in their matchups. The main thing here that made me love Fox is no Bog because Fox will have all the usage as a PG now. Don’t be surprised to see another 50 bomb from him tonight barring injury.

Marcus Smart-

Smart will start with Kemba out again. No brainer here, Smart has steal and block upside on any given night and his price is so nice. Don’t overthink it, I like this price for him for both formats.

Value Plays

Alex Len

With John Collins being doubtful (stated earlier) AND Jabari Parker doubtful as well, there will be no one to play the big man position. Against the two big men in Sabonis and Turner, Atlanta will have to run at least a big to counter them. Without Collins, Len has 20+ minutes in both games against the Pacers and produces well. Damian Jones looks to be less in the rotation compared to Len so I believe that Len>Jones>Fernando. Len is cheap across the industry and is a very nice value play today.

Nemanja Bjelica

Bjelica is starting to receive consistent minutes since the absence of Bagley is once again taking place. Richuan seems to have consistent minutes which means Bjelica is slated to be the starting PF for the Kings. This matchup is prime for Sacramento as well, as this is a huge pace up spot. Without Bogdanovic (doubtful) in the 2nd unit, I believe Luke will run his starters as much as possible. This gives Bjelica ample time to hit his salary price on both sites.

TJ McConnell

The Pacers will be without Brogdon once again tonight, with Holiday being the man up to take his spot in the starting line-up. Behind
him will be this man who does everything on the court from score to rebound to pass. He is a floor commander when he’s subbed in and will be vsing a terrible defense in Atlanta. He is cheap across all sites and should be in consideration to be a value play with a low floor today.

Tournament Plays

Trae Young

Atlanta will be without their number 2 guy John Collins today, which is the same as how they played for 25 games while he served a suspension. Trae played the Pacers twice without Collins, putting up 46.3 and 62.8 DK points. It’s clear that without Collins, Trae is forced to take total control of the offense and his upside today is high. My only concern is the B2B especially with him coming off an ankle injury playing 36 minutes against Boston. Atlanta will be at home tonight and he will be playing against Aaron Holiday, not Brogdon, which bodes well for him. He’s been without steals for a couple games now, which I believe will change tonight.

Christian Wood

The last couple of games have not been pleasant for Wood as the minutes have been there, but the production has been not. This is strange, seeing that Wood is usually a FPPM guy and produces given the minutes. There has been talk about him not being a good fit because of his matchups, but I believe that will change today because of the fast pace and how GS seems to go small. This will be a back and forth game with plenty of peripheral stats waiting to be accumulated especially with Markieff and Blake Griffin already announced out. Wood should get run comparable to the last 2-3 games, it’s just if he can produce off of it.
