NBA DFS – Bales’ Top GPP Play (2/12/21)

Welcome to another edition of Bales’ Top GPP play. In this article, I will outline my favorite NBA GPP play for today’s games. If you want all of my core plays along with our staff’s Final Thoughts articles and access to our Discord, click here

Deni Avdija

Avdija’s seen a plethora of ups and downs throughout his rookie campaign for the Washington Wizards. Through 18 games, he’s averaging 7.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists (17.9 fantasy points) in only 22.6 minutes per game. Avdija’s played 23+ minutes in 5 of his last 10 games, averaging 26.7 fantasy points in 28.6 minutes per game. He also flashed 40+ fantasy point upside against the Miami Heat a few games ago.

Avdija gets a tough matchup against the New York Knicks tonight. New York currently ranks last in the NBA in pace and sixth in defensive efficiency this season. They’ve found success against every position aside from center because of their pace of play. Avdija’s usage rating generally sits around 15% on a nightly basis, although he could find extra shots tonight. With Thomas Bryant out for the season and Bradley Beal resting tonight, Avdija could take on a larger offensive role. He’s also expected to find minutes in the mid-to-high 20s tonight. Avdija was a top-10 pick in the NBA draft, and this could be a breakout spot with the focal point of the offense out. Russell Westbrook will be the highest-owned Washington player, but Avdija gives you tremendous salary relief with plenty of upside and low ownership on a solid slate.
