2019 Rocket Mortgage Classic – Trevis’ Punt Plays

Bet on MyBookie

For those of you new to the plethora of content DFSKarma.com puts out on a daily/weekly basis, this is my weekly PGA article that focuses on the cheapos no one else dare write about. It had massive success last year with my getting sub $7K (DK) golfers finishing top 10 at less than 1% ownership on an almost weekly basis. Well, I’m bringing it back this year with the same concept. My cap this year is $7300 in DraftKings pricing (but you can still play them on FanDuel, FantasyDraft, or Yahoo). I focus on recent form and course history heavily to spit out my favorite 5 golfers from within that range.

That being said, my PGA Punt Plays article looks a little different (for the better) moving forward. You will see below that I have highlighted 5 players within Fantasy National within my price range of $7300 and below.

Recent Form

(Since there is no tournament history (new) for this event, I have the Top 10 <7400 golfers in my model)

It’s not the longest Par 72 in the world, so I think Freddie’s solid short game and Poa putting can easily hit value at $6500 by simply making the cut.

Thorn in my side, Brendan Steele makes his way back in my article with amazing recent form numbers all around. Top 10 in DK Pts scoring as well!

JB Holmes is also solid (recently). He has 3 stats in the Top 3 and comes in at 9th overall in total strokes gained.

Kizzire is only on this list because he loves Poa and is dirt cheap. I’m not extremely confident if he can make the cut this week, but if he does, he auto hits value.

Like a handful of others on this list, Thompson’s OTT ranking is horrendous. His Top 10 Poa putting can (hopefully) make up for that.

Aye Bae Bae doesn’t have a single stat in the Top 20, but he is only $6600 with being 38th in DK scoring.

Harris makes his way on the list for the 2nd straight week. How? Not sure. But here we are.

Fabian Gomez is also dirt cheap at $6400. He doesn’t have any stats to shock you in any way. Nothing too grand, nothing too bad. 18th in DK scoring.

Okay listen, I typically only do my Top 5 in my model and now being my 9th best, Harkins sneaks on the list without any impressive stat aside from being sub 7K and 27th in total strokes gained.

My man crush the last month or two, Danny Lee has earned himself a spot on this list whenever I can squeeze him on it. His OTT is also hot garbage, but I’m confident in him this month to make the cut again.
