Call of Duty Friday Breakdown – New York Home Series 7/9/20

This weekend we have the New York Subliners Home Series in the Call of Duty League. The teams competing include: Atlanta Faze, Chicago Huntsmen, London Royal Ravens, Los Angeles Guerrillas, Minnesota Rokkr, New York Subliners, Paris Legion and Toronto Ultra.

In this article, I will break down the opening matches for Friday June 19th. Before we start, there has been a lot of changes in the competitive Call of Duty scene and there is a ton of uncertainty heading into Friday. Friday will be hard to predict because of the many changes, but let’s hop right into it.

Toronto Ultra vs. Paris Legion

Paris Legion are coming off a very disappointing home series event, where they went 0-2 in their matches. For the Toronto Ultra they looked a bit better with CleanX making his league debut, but they still are inconsistent. However, I think that the Ultra will be able to put away the Legion and win the series.

Favorite Plays

CleanX, TOR (FD:$7,800, DK:$7,800) – CleanX made his debut for the Ultra in the last event and he looked great. CleanX’s play has really transformed Ultra’s play and I think they will surprise some people this event. I think that the changes that have happened in this game will help out CleanX and he will play even better.

Toronto TEAM (FD: $5,400, DK: $2,000) – Toronto is one of the cheapest options in the TEAM slot and I think it’s a no-brainer. Like I’ve said the Ultra have looked a bit better with CleanX and they have the easiest Friday matchup going up against the Paris Legion.

London Royal Ravens vs. Chicago Huntsmen

With the recent changes most teams will be running two ARs, opposed to running just one, which they’ve been doing all year. With this change, I think it will greatly help both of these teams. As a result, I could easily see this series going four or five games.

Favorite Plays:

Wuskin, LON (FD:$9,300, DK:$7,200) – Wuskin has been a dominant AR all season long and with the recent changes it will help him even more. Wuskin had a great last event, puting up 100+ FPs in both of his matches.

Formal, CHI (FD:$10,100, DK:$9,400) – Like Wuskin, Formal has been one of the best ARs in the game and he’s only going to get better with the new changes. In his last five matches he’s put up 100+ FPs and if this series goes five games, he should do it again.

Arcitys, CHI (FD:$8,700, DK:$7,800) – In previous CODs, Arcitys has always thrived in an AR role. However, in this game he was put into a submachine gun role. But with the changes, Arcitys will be the second AR for the Huntsmen, which will allow him to be more comfortable and perform better.

Los Angeles Guerillas vs. Atlanta FaZe

These two teams met a couple of events ago and this series went the distance, with FaZe winning 3-2. FaZe has been struggling to put away teams and I could see this series going four or five games once again.

Favorite Plays

Blazt, LAG (FD:$8,900, DK:$7,400) – Since the COD League has moved to online, Blazt has been one of the top players. Blazt has been a consistent AR for the Guerillas and these changes should benefit him as well. The last time these two teams met, he put up 128 FP.

Cellium, ATL (FD:$10,000, DK:$9,000) – For the past couple of events, Cellium has looked like the best player on FaZe. You can’t go wrong with picking Cellium, Abezy or Simp, as they all have extremely high ceilings. However, Cellium has been playing great and totaled 126 FP last time against LAG.

Abezy, ATL (FD:$9,100, DK:$8,400) – Like I said above, you can’t go wrong with the top 3 on the FaZe team, which is why Abezy is also worth a look. In the last event he scored 130+ FP in all of his matches played, he has been playing out of his mind.

Minnesota Rokkr vs. New York Subliners

These two teams haven’ played for a while, but when they did, NYSL won 3-0. Since moving to online, Minnesota Rokkr have looked like a completely different team, in a bad way. They just haven’t looked like themselves and it should be interesting to see which form of their team will come to play come Friday.

Favorite Plays:

Mack, NYSL (FD:$9,900, DK:$9,200) – For the Subliners, it’s hard to pick a player that will pop off because they are so balanced. However, Mack has been so consistent in his rookie season. Mack has recorded 100+ FP in 9 of his 10 matches this season.

Accuracy, NYSL (FD:$7,700, DK:$6,400) – Accuracy is an interesting value play because he has been such a great AR for the entire year. Like I’ve consistently said this article, the ARs will benefit from the recent changes and I think Accuracy will have a very good showing.
