Call of Duty Friday Breakdown – Toronto Home Series 7/24/20

This weekend we have the Toronto Ultra Home Series in the Call of Duty League. The teams competing include: Atlanta FaZe, Chicago Huntsmen, Dallas Empire, Florida Mutineers, Minnesota Rokkr, OpTic Gaming Los Angeles, Seattle Surge and Toronto Ultra.

In this article, I will break down the matches for Friday July 24th. This weekend features some of the top teams in the Call of Duty League and it should provide for a very entertaining DFS slate. This week it is just based off of DraftKings, as FanDuel has gotten rid of their COD contests.

Atlanta FaZe vs. Minnesota Rokkr

The Atlanta FaZe takes on a struggling Minnesota Rokkr team and should make pretty easy work of them. The Rokkr haven’t won a series in their last six matches and since making the switch to online, they’ve looked pretty bad. For FaZe they always bring the firepower and I think they’ll be too much for Minnesota to handle.

Favorite Plays

Simp, ATL (DK:$8,600) – Simp has solidified himself as one of the best players in the entire league and he has a great matchup in the first series of the event. This price is way too low for someone that is in the running for MVP this season. In the last event, he was put into more of an AR role, but with the recent changes, he should be back to thriving in the submachine gun role.

Abezy, ATL ( DK: $8,400) – In the last event, Abezy was on an absolute rampage all weekend long, posting a tournament-high, 1.32 K/D. The most impressive part was that he was using a submachine gun in an AR dominant meta. Now the tides have balanced more and the submachine gun has gotten better, so I’m expecting Abezy to keep the same pace.

TEAM, ATL (DK:$2,800) – As I said before, FaZe just has so much firepower on their team that I think they will overwhelm the struggling Rokkr and take the series easily.

Florida Mutineers vs. Dallas Empire

We’re getting a rematch between two of the top teams in the game right now, but the Empire took care of the Mutineers in a 3-0 victory last weekend. Dallas proved to be the top team last weekend and made things look easy against Florida. I expect Florida to make some adjustments and make things more competitive, but I think Dallas will still take the match.

Favorite Plays

Shotzzy, DAL (DK: $9,800) – Shotzzy has continued to be in the debate as the top player in the league and his last weekend performance showed why. Shotzzy led all players in the event last weekend with a 1.29 KD. His DFS performances were lacking a bit because they were dominating teams, but I think this series will be more competitive than most last weekend.

Huke, DAL (DK:$8,000) – Huke was really dominant last weekend and was looking super comfortable in a flex role for the Empire. Huke was consistently having the most engagements on his team and was winning most of them, racking up the fantasy points. Huke also posted an impressive 1.24 KD last weekend en route to winning the London Home Series.

TEAM, DAL (DK:$2,400) – Like I said before, Dallas took care of Florida in a 3-0 victory last weekend, but I think Florida will make some adjustments. However, I don’t think they will be able to beat the Empire as Dallas clearly looks like the top team.

Skyz, FLA (DK:$7,600) – After a disappointing performance last weekend from the Mutineers team, all of their players have had significant price drops. However, because of this I think it’s definitely worth taking a chance on some of them because they have such high ceilings. Skyz is one of my favorite choices from Florida because he is a consistent top AR and has a team-high 1.26 K/D this season.

Chicago Huntsmen vs. Seattle Surge

In the new two AR meta, the Chicago Huntsmen have looked a lot better and they take on Seattle Surge, who have struggled to make series competitive lately. I think that the Huntsmen will make quick work of the Surge in three or four games.

Favorite Plays

Arcitys, CHI (DK:$9,000) – With the new meta, Arcitys has moved from his submachine gun role to the AR role, which has always been his role. With Arcitys being more comfortable, he has thrived posting a 1.19 K/D in the New York Home Series.

Octane, SEA (DK:$10,000) – Octane has a super steep price tag, but rightfully so as he consistently puts up one of the best K/Ds. In the two matches last weekend, Octane posted a 1.23 K/D and a 1.27 K/D in the other. However, he does have a tough matchup as he faces up against another top AR in Formal.

Toronto Ultra vs. OpTic Gaming Los Angeles

The last match of the night features the host, Toronto Ultra going up against a new and improved OGLA. With the recent roster changes OGLA has looked a lot better, but they will have a tough task against Toronto. I think this series can easily go either way, but I think it will go at least four games.

Favorite Plays

Slasher, OGLA (DK:$9,400) – Slasher has consistently been known as one of the top ARs but was struggling in the past couple weeks. However, last weekend with the new roster it looked like he was much more comfortable. In the two matches last weekend, he posted 95 FPs and 105 FPs, I expect Slasher to keep this form.

Cammy, TOR (DK:$8,200) – Cammy is another player that the new two AR meta has helped a lot recently. Cammy has shown a great mix of being able to slay with the best of them as well as playing the objective for the Ultra. With the mixture of the two, I think Cammy can put up some big numbers in what should be a competitive series.
